You Can Now Connect Any Domain to Jetdomains. Even Ones You Didn’t Register With Us.

It’s shipped.

You can now add a domain to your Jetdomains dashboard that you registered somewhere else — GoDaddy, Afrihost, Xneelo, Domains.co.za, wherever — and see the expiry date and nameservers alongside everything else you own.

One place. Everything in view. Regardless of who you originally bought the domain from.

That’s the feature. Here’s how it actually works and why it matters.

What the dashboard looked like before

Until now, the only domains that showed up in your Jetdomains dashboard were the ones registered through us.

Which makes sense for a registrar. But it creates a problem for anyone managing more than a handful of domains.

Most people didn’t start with Jetdomains. They have a domain from three years ago on GoDaddy, another one on Afrihost, maybe a client domain they inherited that’s sitting on some registrar they’ve never logged into. The full picture of what they own is scattered.

So the dashboard was only ever showing part of the story.

What changed

You can now add any domain — just type in the name, nothing else required — and we’ll run a lookup in the background.

Why I didn’t force a nameserver migration

The obvious move would have been: connect your domain, point it at Jetdomains nameservers, unlock everything.

I decided against that.

Forcing a nameserver change to unlock basic monitoring is a bad trade. Nameserver migrations touch DNS, which touches email, which touches everything. For a business that’s been running on the same setup for years, asking them to change nameservers to see an expiry date creates real risk for something that should be simple.

The value is visibility. You shouldn’t have to break things to get it.

So the model is: connect it, see what you own, keep your current setup intact. If you decide later that you want full DNS management through Jetdomains, that option is there. But it’s a choice, not a prerequisite.

Jetdomains is live at jetdomains.co.za — domain registration, hosting, and now domain monitoring for SA businesses and developers.
